Always keep your destiny in mind

July 21st, 2010

"You must always keep your destiny in mind" said the old man," the mistakes you make are always when you lose this focus", he added.

"Fighting skirmishes and short term battles just deplete your strength and you become so wrapped up in the outcome that you forget the grander scheme of things. The war and your destiny is what is important everything else dwarfs in comparison."

"Understanding this and living this are two different things, one is an logical response the other is an emotional response, to truly understand one must incorporate the logical and the emotional into one entity that is spiritual understanding or wisdom."

As they walked along the young man noticed that the old man had no difficulty in crossing the terrain yet he was continually tripping on the rocky pathway, this made him angry yet the more he concentrated on where to put his feet the more he tripped and thus the angrier he became.

Whereas the old man just kept his focus on the horizon never looking at the pathway in front of him yet he had no problems and literally glided along.

Although the young man was just that young, he was willing to learn so he said to the old man "Why is that you are able to walk along this path without the slightest stumble whereas I am continually tripping and almost falling. Yet I am concentrating upon the rocks under my feet and all you do is look into the far distance. That doesn't seem fair"

The Old man just looked at him without any emotion and said "Have you not listened to what I said, Always know your destiny focus upon it all the time, once you can start to do this you allow the here and now to take care of itself because you know and trust that you are moving in the right direction. As with life so it is with walking trust your body to what is right for you and you will cease to trip over every rock on the path. What you are doing is just avoiding the immediate rock and then treading on the rock that is beyond your perception this is why you are tripping all the time."

The young man thought about this and started to move forward initially it was hard to trust that his body to make the right moves but the more he trusted the smoother his passage became.

Always
